In 2009, I was awarded a research grant by the Suruga International Institute in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, to create and produce a podcast series on the experiences of the changing communities of the prefecture.
The result is “Shizuoka Speaks,” a podcast series that lives on its own site as well as on a Facebook page of the same name. Racism, immigration, language and education are the major themes of the podcast.
